Poem: Thank You, My Teacher, For being there for me

Thank You, My Teacher, For being there for me

​

I remember the time when you were there for me,
through my many tears you helped me actually see

You stood close to me like a friend,
there for me until the end

You were always ready and eager
to have a new day of fun

Kudos to you for the patience you have shown throughout the year
helping us through our problems and making them all so clear

Your most precious asset just deserves a lot 
and being just a teacher doesn’t come in a book

Teachers give the children the roots to grow and the wings to fly
encouraging their efforts to fly so high

Some lessons were a challenge but you taught me how to cope
each day I grew in confidence, ability and hope

You support me with a cheer and a high five
just because you want to see me thrive

Investing your heart in the work that you do
you help us learn and to grow

A teacher must have a special place in every child’s heart
because in this game of life, they help them get their start

You helped me really see what I couldn’t see and helped me to find the real me
You turned me into a beautiful person I was meant to be

If I say goodbye to you, I will just fall apart
because you have always been in my heart

Thank you for helping me to learn all that I today know
I will always remember you even when I’m grown
